Section 182(a) in U.P. Building And Other Construction Workers (Regulation Of Employment And Conditions Of Service) Rules, 2009
(a)where there is any question of doubt as to the stability of any structure for it adjoining the workplace or other areas to be excavated or where tunneling work is to be carried out, the project engineer referred to in Rule 125 arranges for measures like underpinning, sheet piling, shoring, bracing or other similar means to support such structure and to prevent injury to any building worker working adjacent to such structure or damage to property or equipment adjacent to such structure;
