Section 1 in The Ancient Monuments And Archaeological Sites And Remains Rules, 1959
1. Short title, extent and commencement. - (1) These rules may be called the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Rules, 1959.
(2)They extend to the whole of India, but rules 24, 25, 27, 28, 29 and 30 shall not apply to the State of Jammu and Kashmir.(3)They shall come into force on the 15th day of October, 1959.
