Section 269(1) in Gauhati Municipal Corporation Act, 1971
(1)The Commissioner shall provide or appoint in proper and convenient situations, public receptacles, depots and places for the temporary deposit or final disposal of rubbish, offensive matters, sewage and the carcasses of dead animals accumulating in the city.
