26. Insertion of new section 44A.
After section 44 of the principal Act, the following section shall be inserted, namely:––State Disaster Response Force."44A.(1) The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, constitute a State Disaster Response Force for the purpose of specialist response to a threatening disaster situation or disaster.(2)Subject to the provisions of this Act, the State Disaster Response Force shall be constituted in such manner, with such functions and the terms and conditions of service of the members of such Force shall be such as may be prescribed by the State Government concerned.”.
