(1)The Mayor shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as are conferred upon him by or under this Act and the rules and regulations made thereunder;(2)The Mayor shall preside over the meetings of the Municipal Corporation and of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Corporation.(3)The Mayor shall exercise general supervision and control over the functioning of the Municipal Corporation.(4)The Mayor shall have access to the records of the Municipal Corporation and may issue directions to the Commissioner and call for reports and information from the Commissioner with a view to ensuring proper implementation of the decisions of the Municipal Corporation and of the Standing Committee.
