Section 253(a) in Rajasthan Land Revenue (Land Records) Rules, 1957
(a)It is often desirable to protect the gauge from being damaged by cattle, and for this purpose a fence may be erected around it. This can be made of any suitable material, but it must be of such a size that the top of the fence is not higher above the mouth of the gauge than half its distance from the gauge.
