Section 212(1) in Chennai City Municipal Corporation Act, 1919
(1)The [standing committee] [Substituted for 'central committee' Tamil Nadu Act 22 of 1971.] may prepare schemes and plans of proposed public streets, showing the direction of such streets, the street alignment and building line on each side of them, their intended width and such other details as may appear desirable.
