Section 36A(6) in The Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994
(6)The Research and Recognition Committee for a Board of Studies shall-(i)approve the topic of thesis or dissertation in the subject,(ii)recommend panel of referees for thesis or dissertation to the Board,(iii)recommend names of post-graduate teachers and research guides to the Board,(iv)advise the Board of Studies or the Faculty, on measures to improve courses of studies at the Post-graduate level,(v)Recommend to the Board, the course-structure for Ph.D., Pre-Ph.D. and M.Phil. courses for approval.]
