(3)No rewards for the recapture of a prisoner who escapes from the custody of the police shall be paid by the Jail Department.Note 1. - Any Government servant may receive, without special permission, any reward offered for the arrest of a criminal, etc.Note 2. - When two or more persons have been instrumental in the recapture of any prisoner who has escaped from a jail, the reward shall be divided amongst them in such manner as the Inspector-General may direct.
