Section 2(26) in The Maharashtra Universities Act, 1994
(26)"recognized institution" means an institution of higher learning, research or specialized studies, other than [a college] [This letter and word was substituted for the words 'an affiliated college' by Maharashtra 55 of 2000, section 2(d).], and recognized to be so by the university;
