(3)The first Vice Chancellor shall hold office for a term of five years and extend able for two more years from the date on which he enters upon his office and be eligible for the appointment for the next term and maximum age limit will be 70 years. Subsequent Vice- Chancellor shall hold office for a term of three years or till he attains the age of 70 years which ever is earlier:Provided that the State Govt. may require the Vice-Chancellor after his term has expired, to continue in office for such period, not exceeding a total period of one year or as may be specified by the Government.
