Section 12(1) in The Assam Agricultural University Act, 1968
(1)The Academic Council shall be in charge of the academic affairs of the University and shall, subject to the provisions of the Act, and the Statutes, superintend, direct and control and be responsible for the maintenance of standards of instructions, education and examinations and other matters connected with the conferment of degrees or award of diplomas, certificates ; and shall exercise such other powers and perform such other duties as may be conferred or imposed on it by the statutes. It shall advise the Vice-Chancellor on all academic matters.
