Section 46B in The Maharashtra Village Panchayats Act, 1959

46B. Integrated development, management and regulation of drinking water supply and water sources within the area of the Panchayat".

G.O., P.W.D., No. TRS. 2183/85172 (713)/R-1, dated 12th November, 1984 (M. G., Part IV-B, page 1280). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 51 of the Bombay Village Panchayats Act, 1958 (Bombay III of 1959), and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the Government of Maharashtra hereby directs that the road comprising the old abandoned portion of the Dahivadi-Mograle Phaltan Road, State Highway No. 14A, starting from Kilometre 87/400 and ending at 89/382 and passing through village Dahivadi in Satara District, shall vests in the Gram Panchayat, Dahivadi in Satara District, subject to the condition that no changes, shall be made in respect of that road without the prior approval of the State Government or of any of its officers authorised by it in that behalf.G. G., Part, IV-B, page 1614). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 51 of the Bombay Village Panchayats Act, 1958 (Bombay III of 1959), the Government of Maharashtra hereby vests the road comprising the abandoned portion of the Nashik-Vani-Borgaon-Waghai upto State Border (SH No. 1959), (length of the road 615 metres) in the Dindori Village Panchayat of the Nashik District, for the purpose of Chapter III of the said Act; subject to the condition that no changes shall be made in respect of that road without the prior approval of the State Government or of any of its officers authorised by it in that behalf.G. G., Part, IV-B, page 1038). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 51 of the Bombay Village Panchayats Act, 1958 (Bombay III of 1959), the Government of Maharashtra hereby vest the road length starting from Km. 0/0 to 0/75 Km. Pimpalgaon-Baswant to Chinchkhed (Village Road No. 4) in the Pimpalgaon Baswant Village Panchayat of the Nashik District, for the purpose of Chapter III of the said Act, subject to the condition that (1) The road shall be maintained by Village Panchayat properly, (2) It should be seen that no encroachment or of new construction on this road is taken place and provisions in the Ribbon Development Rules be followed strictly, (3) No changes shall be made in respect of road without prior permission of the State Government or of any of its officers authorised by it in that behalf.G. G., Part, I-A-C.S., page 23). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 64 of the Bombay Village Panchayats Act, 1958 (Bombay III of 1959), the Government of Maharashtra hereby specifies the following powers which every Nayaya Panchayat constituted under that section may exercise, that is to say: -
(a)Powers in respect of Suits mentioned in sub-sections (1) and (2) of section 73 of the said Act; and
(b)Powers in respect of offences mentioned in section 75 except those under sections 323, 352, 358, 379, 426, 447, 461, 504, 506 and 510 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

G., Part I-A-C.S., page 101) - In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (v) of sub-section (2) of section 134 of the Bombay Village Panchayats Act, 1958 (Bon III of 1959), the Government of Bombay hereby determines that the number of persons to be elected in each District as members of the District Village Panchayat Mandal for that District from amongst the Sarpanchas of the Panchayats in that District shall be as shown in column 3 of the Schedule annexed hereto, against the District Village Panchayat Mandal concerned.

G., Part I-A C-S., page 73). - In exercise of the powers conferred by section 136 of the Bombay Village Panchayats Act, 1958 (Bombay III of 1959), and of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, and in supersession of Government Notification, Co-operation and Rural Development Department, No. VPS 2462/22703-E, dated the 5th June 1962, the Government of Maharashtra hereby appoints each of the Deputy Chief Executive Officers (Village Panchayats) of the Zilla Parishads in the State to be the District Village Panchayat Officer within the limits of their respective revenue district or districts.G. N. R.D. & W. C. D. No. VPM 2601/CR 1492/22, dated 19th March, 2001 (M. G. Part IV B, page 336). - In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section of section 182 of the Bombay Village Panchayats Act, 1958 (Bombay III of 1959), the Government of Maharashtra hereby authorises the Commissioner of Divisions, to exercise within their respective jurisdiction the powers of the State Government under section 125 of the said Act.
