- If any member of the Board other than the Chairman [Vice-Chairman] [Inserted by Assam Act No. 5 of 2018, dated 16.3.2018.] is by infirmity or otherwise rendered temporarily incapable of carrying out his duties or is absent on leave or otherwise not involving the vacation of his appointment, the State Government may appoint another person to officiate for him and carry out his functions under this Act or any rule or regulation made thereunder.
