(1)The State Government shall, by general or special order notified in the Official Gazette, prescribe the uniform for the various ranks in the Police, the scale, monetary grants for purchase and maintenance and the protocol with respect to duties and the wearing of the uniform.(2)The State Government shall, by general or special order notified in the Official Gazette, prescribe the badges of rank and other distinctive badges that may be worn with the uniform.(3)The Director General of Police, subject to such orders of the Government, may issue general standing orders in this regard.
