Section 36(5) in The Standards Of Weights And Measures Act, 1976
(5)The prescribed authority shall test the models submitted to it with a view to(a)ascertaining whether such models conform to the standards established by or under this Act;(b)finding out the ability of such models to maintain accuracy over periods of sustained use; and(c)determining the performance of such models under such varied conditions as may be prescribed.
