18. Commencement and close of poll.
- The poll shall commence and close at the time fixed for the purpose under rule 5.Provided that :(a)all electors present at the place fixed for poll before it is so closed shall be entitled to have their votes recorded; and(b)if for any reason it is not possible to open the polling station at the fixed hours or if by reason of disorder at the polling station or for any other reason, polling for a certain time has to be stopped, the presiding officer shall keep the polling station open for a further period equal to that which lapse between the hour appointed for the opening of the polling station and the hour at which it was actually opened or the time during which the polling was stopped, as the case may be.
