(1)Excise Commissioner may impose a penalty not exceeding Rs. 50,000 for contravention of any condition of licence granted under these rules or order issued by him and may further impose in the case of continued contravention an additional penalty not exceeding Rs. 1,000 per day during the period such contravention continues.
