(1)Subject to the provision of Article 311 of the Constitution, the Lokayukta may be removed from his office by the Governor on the ground of misbehaviour or incapacity and on no other ground: Provided that inquiry required to be held under clause (2) of the said Article before such removal shall be held by a person appointed by the Governor, being a person who is or has been the Chief Justice of a High Court or a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.
