Leave granted.
After hearing the learned counsel for the parties, we deem it appropriate to direct the appellant to pay a lump sum of Rs. 16,50,000/- (Rs. Sixteen lakh fifty thousand only) including the interest as full and final settlement of claim of compensation to the respondent. We order, accordingly and modify the order of the High Court.
In case, the amount is not paid within six weeks from today, the same shall carry an interest @ 12% per annum.
The appeals stand disposed of, accordingly.
