Section 167(2) in Ajmer Abolition of Intermediaries And Land Reforms Act, 1955
(2)The manner of service of such notice on a tenant shall be that of the service of a summons by the court:(x x x)Provided that such notice shall also be served on the tenant through registered post with acknowledgement due :Provided further that if the tenant is not found or refuses to accept the notice or to sign the acknowledgement, the notice shall be served by affixing it to his usual place of residence in the presence of two persons of the place who shall sign the notice in attestation of such service, and such service shall be deemed to be due service on the tenant.
