(1)This Act may be called the Indira Gandhi National Open University Act, 1985.(2)It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may be notification in the Official Gazette [*] [Vide notification No. SO. 678(E) dated 19.9.1985 Gazette of India; Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3(ii)] appoint.
