(1)The Registrar shall be a whole time paid officer of the University appointed by the [Executive Council] [Throughout the Act for the words 'Board of Management' the words 'Executive Council' substituted by Act No.13 of 1995.] for a term of three years or less and on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the Statutes, provided that he shall not continue in that office for more than six years.
