(1)to be present at the opening of the wards, attend to any prisoners who complain of sickness and, if necessary, send them to hospital or bring them before the Medical Officer, having distributed the necessary medicines to out-door patients, to visit the hospital, do whatever is needful there, and note the condition, progress and temperature when necessary, of each case on the bed-head tickets.
