790. Procedure when certain lunatics are committed to jail.
(1)Whenever a person belonging to Class 2 is detained in a jail under section 330 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. the Superintendent shall apply to the District Magistrate for an order for his transfer to a mental hospital in anticipation of the receipt of orders from Government.(2)Whenever a person belonging to Class 1 or Class 2 is detained in a jail for more than a month, the fact shall be reported to the Inspector-General.
