Section 14 in Maharashtra Cinemas (Regulation) Rules, 1966
14. Gangways.
(1)A clear passage or gangway shall be formed at the sides and down the centre of the seating in every part of the auditorium in such manner that no seat shall be 3 or more metres distant from a passage or gangway measured in the line of sealing.The central passage or gangway shall be at least 1.20 m. wide and those at the sides shall be at least 0.90 m. wide each :Provided that, nothing in this sub-rule shall apply to premises duly licensed for use for cinematograph exhibition before the coming into force of these Rules.(2)Where possible, gradients or inclined planes shall be used instead of steps, but no gradient or inclined plane shall be steeper than 1 in 10.
