5. Method of recruitment.
(1)Recruitment to Assistant Engineer/Assistant Architect/Assistant Research Officer shall be made-(a)by direct recruitment on the basis of selection made in accordance with Rule 6; and(b)by promotion in accordance with Rules 11, 13 and 14.(2)Recruitment to Class I (Senior Services) and Executive Engineer shall be made by promotion only in accordance with Rules 12 and 13.
