1. By way of this writ petition filed in the year 2009, the petitioners sought a direction to the respondents to release the earned wages in their favour w.e.f. March, 2006 till date with 18% interest PA, retrospectively and to pay wages to them regularly in future also. The petitioners also sought a direction to the respondents to allow them to continue to work as casual labourers and to formulate a scheme for their regularization on the same analogy on which policy of regularization of daily wagers was formulated under SRO 64 of 1994.
2. By an order dated 2nd February, 2009, liberty was given to the petitioners to file a representation with the respondents within one week and they were thereafter directed to dispose of the same within three weeks. It is also provided that the respondents may consider the case of the petitioners for the release of unpaid earned wages, if any, in terms of genuine and valid appointment order.
3. None appears for the petitioners when the matter is called out today.
4. In the interest of justice, adverse orders are deferred.
