Section 203(1) in The Maharashtra Municipal Councils, Nagar Panchayats And Industrial Townships Act, 1965
(1)It shall not be lawful to construct or reconstruct any building, or to occupy or permit occupation of any building newly constructed or reconstructed unless and until-(a)a drain is constructed of such size, materials and description, at such level and with such fall, as may be required by the bye-laws or if no bye-laws have been framed by the Council as shall appear to the Chief Officer to be necessary for the effectual drainage of such building.(b)there have been provided for and set up in such building and in the land appurtenant thereto, all such appliances and fittings as may be required by the bye-laws or if no bye-laws have been framed by the Council as may appear to the Chief Officer to be necessary for the purposes of gathering and receiving the drainage from, and conveying the same off, the said building and the said land, and of effectually flushing the drain of the said building and every fixture connected therewith.
