Section 27 in The West Bengal Advocates Welfare Fund Act, 1991.
27. Power to summon witnesses and take evidence. -
The Trust Committee and the Bar Council shall, for the purposes of any enquiry under this Act, have the same powers as are vested in a civil court while trying a suit under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908, in respect of the following matters :-(a)enforcing the attendance of any person for examining him on oath;(b)requiring the discovery and production of documents;(c)receiving evidence on affidavit;(d)issuing commissions for examination of witnesses.
