Section 2(8) in The Maharashtra Agricultural Pests And Diseases Act, 1947
(8)“Plant” includes the fruit, leaves, bark, cuttings and any living or dead portion of a plant but does not include the seed:Provided that the State Government may by notification in the Official Gazette direct that the seed of any particular plant shall be included in the definition of plant;
