Section 7(5) in The First Statutes of the National Institutes of Technology
(5)The Director shall preside over every meeting of the Senate:Provided that in absence of the Director, Deputy Director shall preside and in the absence of both the Director and the Deputy Director, the senior most profess present shall preside at the meeting.
