12. - Members of the force to receive certificates on enrolment
Every member of the force shall receive on enrolment a certificate in the following form under the signature of the Commissioner :--FORM"A.B. has been appointed a member of the Madras City Police force and is invested with the powers, functions and privileges of a Police Officer."By virtue of such certificate he shall be vested with the powers, functions and privileges of a Police Officer, and such certificate shall cease to have effect whenever the person named in it is suspended or dismissed, or otherwise cease to be employed in the force.
