Sixteenth Loksabha an> Title: Need to introduce shuttle train service between Chennai and Sholinghur and create stoppage for all express trains at Sholinghur Banavaram railway station.
SHRI G. HARI (ARAKKONAM): Sir, Sholinghur is an ancient Temple town known for Lakshmi Narasimha and Yoga Anjaneya temples. It has a railway station which about 13 kilometres away from Sholinghur in a place called Banavaram.
In recent years, Sholinghur is emerging as an industrial town with Brakes India and associated companies operating from this town. It also houses the TVS Motor industrial production unit which employs more than ten thousand employees. Apart from this the school going children of these employees,people of all walks of life have to travel in trains every day to reach their destinations. Many pilgrims from all over Tamil Nadu, are visiting Sholinghur.
There is an need for introduction of shuttle train service between Chennai and Sholinghur. If all the Express trains passing through Shoiinghur could halt for two minutes at Banavaram Station, it will benefit train passengers immensely.
I urge upon the Union Government to introduce shuttle train service between Chennai and Sholinghur and create stoppage for all Express trains at Sholinghur Banavaram Railway station.
