an> Title: Need to make announcements regarding Arrival/Departure of trains in Nepali language at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station in Bengal SHRI D. NARBULA (DARJEELING): New Jalpaiguri Railway Station is the main Railway Station in North Bengal. It is the Gateway of entire North East States, Sikkim, Bhutan, Darjeeling, Nepal and Bangladesh. People going to different parts of the Country from these regions board trains from New Jalpaiguri Railway Station. A large number of Nepali speaking people from Darjeeling, Sikkim, Bhutan and Nepal also board trains in New Jalpaiguri Railway Station to go to the different parts of India. Till to-day there is no provision of making announcements in Nepali language. At present announcements of train timings etc. are made in Hindi, Bengali and English which causes inconvenience to the Nepali/Gurkhali passengers. I, therefore, request the Hon'ble Railway Minister to introduce announcements of train timing etc. in Nepali language also which will help the Nepali/Gurkhali passengers who board trains at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station.
