Request To Include One Cochlar Implant In (Adip) Scheme Of Assistance To Disabled ... on 14 December, 2021
Seventeenth Loksabha > Title: Request to include one cochlar implant in (ADIP) Scheme of Assistance to Disabled Persons Scheme and provide repaining cost regularly.
SHRIMATI SUPRIYA SADANAND SULE (BARAMATI): Sir, the Government of India has a very good Scheme for people with special needs. It is called the Scheme of Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances (ADIP). The cochlear implant and hearing aids are an integral part of this Scheme. The cochlear implant is a very expensive machine. It is also a very expensive surgery for a family. But after the cochlear implant, there is a lot of wear and tear and the cost of repairing regularly is about Rs. 85,000.
I, therefore, request the Department to include one cochlear implant and after that till the child attains the age of 18 years or 21 years and he or she is on his or her feet, we need to support these children. So, if they can add this amount of Rs. 85,000 as an extension, it would be a wonderful thing. Thank you, Sir.
