Section 74(2)(i) in The Manipur Co-operative Societies Act, 1976

(i)to institute, conduct, defend, compound or abandon any suit or other legal proceedings by or against the society or otherwise concerning the affairs of the society and also to compound and allow time for payment or satisfaction of any claim or demand by or against the society;
