Section 57(1) in Tamil Nadu Farmers' Management of Irrigation Systems Election Rules, 2003
(1)Election for the purpose of electing the President and members of the Managing Committee of the Distributory Committee and to fill up any vacancy therein shall be held in a special meeting convened for the purpose. One half of the total number of member? of the general body of the Distributory Committee shall constitute the quorum for such special meeting.Explanation. - Where the strength of the members of the general body of the Distributory Committee is an odd number, for the purpose of reckoning the fifty per cent strength, it shall be rounded off to the next higher number.
