Section 4(ii) in The Motor Vehicles (New High Security Registration Plates) Order, 2001
(ii)The registration plate shall conform to the specifications spelt out in rule 50 of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989; and shall conform to [DIN 74069-1975 and ISO 7591-1982, as amended from time to time till such time as the corresponding BIS specifications are notified.] [ Substituted by S.O. 1041(E), dated 16.10.2001, for " DIN 1745/DIN 1783 or ISO 7591, as updated from time to time" (w.e.f. 16.10.2001).] The registration plate has to be guaranteed for imperishable nature for a minimum of five years.
