Section 11(3) in The Industrial Disputes Act, 1947
(3)Every Board, Court, [Labour Court, Tribunal and National Tribunal] [ Substituted by Act 36 of 1956, Section 9, for " and Tribunal" (w.e.f. 10.3.1957).] shall have the same powers as are vested in a Civil Court under the Code of Civil Procedure, 1908 (5 of 1908), when trying a suit, in respect of the following matters, namely:-(a)enforcing the attendance of any person and examining him on oath;(b)compelling the production of documents and material objects;(c)issuing commissions for the examination of witnesses;(d)in respect of such other matters as may be prescribed;and every inquiry or investigation by a Board, Court, [Labour Court, Tribunal or National Tribunal] [ Substituted by Act 36 of 1956, Section 9, for " or Tribunal" (w.e.f. 10.3.1957).], shall be deemed to be a judicial proceeding within the meaning of sections 193 and 228 of the Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860).
