Section 17(1)(i) in The U.P. Co-Operative and Panchayat Audit Service Rules, 1979

(i)For the purpose of recruitment by promotion to the post of Chief Audit Officer selection on the basis of merit and for the post of Deputy Chief Audit Officer, selection on the basis of seniority subject to the rejection of the unfit shall be made from amongst the officers eligible for promotion to these posts under rule 5, by a selection committee constituted as follows:
