(4)On receipt of an application under section 98 (1) the Collector shall make such inquiry as he may, in the circumstances of the case, deem necessary. He may also depute an officer not below the rank of Naib Tahsildar for:(a)verification of the facts stated in the application; and(b)reporting the circumstances in which permission for transfer is sought.
