Section 2(1)(x) in The Tamil Nadu Town Panchayats, Third Grade Municipalities, Municipalities and Corporations (Elections) Rules, 2006

(x)"Councillor" means a member elected from a ward of a Panchayat Town or of a Transitional Area or of a Municipality or of a Municipal Corporation, as the case may be;
