Section 17A(1) in The U.P. Basic Education (Teachers) Service Rules, 1981
(1)The Selection Committee shall consider the candidates for selection on the basis of the list referred to in sub-rule (6) of Rule 14 or sub-rule (2) of Rule 15, as the case may be, and prepare a list of selected candidates in the order in which their names appear in the said list. If two or more candidates have equal quality points, the name of the candidate who is senior in age shall be placed higher in the list. The selection committee shall forward the list to the appointing authority.
