(2)[ Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the Government may, by notification, direct that the provisions of this Act shall apply to any of the areas specified in sub-section (1) with effect from such date as may be specified in such notification.] [Substituted Tamil Nadu Act 39 of 1981, w.e.f. 1.7.1976.]
