Information sought

:

The appellant has filed RTI application dated 23/10/2024 seeking the following information regarding scheme Pm Yasasvi Central Sector Scheme of Top Class Education in College for Obc, Ebc and Dnt Students.

"I am in Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, Ranchi (AISHE CODE : U 0202). I need Details Regarding slots allotted to my institute Birla Institute of, Technology, Mesra Ranchi for OBC category. i.e. total slots available to OBC students for my college for this scholarship."

The CPIO furnished a reply to the appellant on 28/10/2024 stating as under:

"Please visit the website of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment or National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for Institution wise slots."

3. Being dissatisfied, the appellant, filed a First Appeal dated 28/10/2024. The FAA vide its order dated 30/10/2024, held as under:-

"With reference to your above mentioned RTI Appeal dated 28.10.2024, I am to say that the CPIO of this Department has already provided information of RTI application dated 23.10.2024 as under.

"Please visit the website of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment or National Scholarship Portal (NSP) for Institution wise slots."

As you are not satisfied with the reply of CPIO and you have filed an appeal against CPIO. No further information is available with this Appellate authority.

If you are not satisfied with the reply, you may prefer an appeal before Central Information Commission, CIC Bhawan, Baba Gangnath Marg, Munirka, New Delhi 110067 within 90 days."

4. Being aggrieved and dissatisfied, the appellant approached the Commission by filing instant Second appeal on 05/11/2024.

Further the Appellant vide letter dated 04.02.2026, withdrew the Second Appeal, stating, "I, Reeshikesh Kumar, Appeliant in the above-mentioned Second Appeal/Complaint, most respectfully submit that the information sought by me through my RTI application has already been obtained from the official website of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment.

The relevant information was officially published on the Ministry's website in July 2025. Hence, my grievance stands fully redressed and no further relief is required in the matter.

In view of the above facts, I humbly request the Hon'ble Commission to kindly treat the above-mentioned appeal/complaint as closed.

I shall be grateful for your kind consideration."

Appellant: Absent Respondent: Absent Neither the Appellant, nor the Respondent has availed the opportunity to appear before the commission despite due notice of hearing.

DECISION In the light of the facts of the case and the material on record, the commission observes that the Appellant vide letter dated 04.02.2026 withdrew his case.

Hence the Second Appeal is closed as withdrawn.
