Section 12(1) in The South Asian University Act, 2008
(1)The President shall be appointed by the Governing Board in such manner as may be prescribed by the Statutes:Provided that until the President is appointed, the Chief Executive Officer of the Project Office shall exercise the powers of the President and function as Chief Executive Officer of the University.
