Section 34 in The Calcutta Municipal Corporation Act, 1980
34. General powers of the Mayor. -
(1)The Mayor shall exercise such powers and discharge such functions as are conferred on him by or under this Act.(2)The Mayor shall, for convenient transaction of the business of the Corporation, allocate among the members of the Mayor-in-Council such business and in such manner as he thinks fit.
