Section 6(1) in Tamil Nadu Sandalwood Transit Rules, 1967
(1)All sandalwood in transit shall be produced for examination at the first checking station in the district between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and if such sandalwood arrives at the first checking station after 6 p.m., the officer-in-charge of such checking station may detain it till the next day for examination.
