Section 77AA in Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920
77AA. [ Teachers (including headmasters) and other persons employed in connection with the municipal schools to be Government servants. [Section 77AA was inserted by Tamil Nadu Act 65 of 1986 with effect from 1st June 1986]
(1)Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, or in any other law for the time being in force, on and from the 1st June 1986,-(a)all teachers (including headmasters), and(b)all officers and servants of the municipal councils, employed in connection with the municipal schools shall become whole-time Government servants.(2)Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act and subject to the provisions of Article 311 of the Constitution, the State Government may make rules regulating the conditions of service of the teachers (including headmasters) and other persons referred to in sub-section (1).]
